Some very quick and impromptu thoughts about why I love Hermione…

She’s incredibly smart and not afraid to show it. She doesn’t feel the need to lessen her knowledge or wisdom in order to gain the attention of the men and women around her. She is not ashamed to enjoy reading, studying, and learning.

I have found throughout my life that the average individual feels greatly intimidated by intelligence. Through social interactions with my peers, I grew up learning that being smart wasn’t cool. Hermione proves this wrong for me. And that’s just one of the reasons why I just love reading about her in the books and watching her in the movies.

Summer Reading List

Here is my reading list at the moment. It is likely to change, and even more likely that I will end up reading multiple books at the same time. My kindle has been rejected for far too long, and its time to put it to good use!

1. The Little Princess (In progress- I loved this book growing up and am falling in love with it all over again)

2. Tina Fey: Bossypants (I cannot wait to read this book)

3. The Great Gatsby (I haven’t read this high school; I watched a movie adaption last year which I love, and I need to reread it to reevaluate what I think of the book)

4. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (Caitlin, I think it’s about time I finally read this book)

5. The Importance of Being Earnest (not actually sure if I have ever read this play, but I adore one of the movie adaptations. Already on my kindle and ready to read!)
